Library

The library of the Institute is a repository of text books, journals, magazines, CD’s, case studies, project reports on a wide range of subjects. It has sufficient number of Indian and Foreign Periodicals spanning all aspects of Management. Being well organized and open access library, it facilitates free usage of books on the shelf by the students, faculty and readers The library has subscribed E-Journal from EBSCO and J-Gate. The Library is fully automated with internet accessibility. Libsys, integrated library management software is used for automation of all functions and processes. It is accessible through any terminal over LAN. In addition to regular services, the library is having membership of British Council Library (BCL) and American Information Resource Centre (AIRC).The stock and services of library is meant to help academic community, researchers, public and private sector managers and professional groups abreast with the latest developments in their key areas of activities and provides information support for research and consultancy. At the same time for students library is a major source of information support for their course curriculum as well as their self-development. Facilities are available for having photocopies of relevant portions of books and journals at a minimum charge subject to the copyright restrictions.

About the Library


BIMS Library is an organized combination of both traditional and digital characteristics where user can access printed items as well as the digital holding in the form of e-Books and e- Journals. It is a repository of text and reference books, national and international journals, magazines, project reports, newspapers, CDs on wide range of subjects.

Printed Materials


Library contains huge number of text books, reference books in printed form and printed journals. The journal is of two categories – National and International. It contains magazines and newspapers also. Besides textbooks and journals; the library has a rich reference collection, like dictionaries, encyclopedias, conference proceedings, newsletters, thesaurus, handbook, directory etc. Our library maintains also e-reference in the form of CD and DVD.     BIMS library provides open-access, where the readers find out their required books from the library shelves. The BIMS library organized the retro-conversion of all the books and classified them under the scheme of Universal Decimal Classification (UDC), Anglo-American cataloguing scheme.

    The entire database of the library was initially kept in LIBSYS-4.0 which has now been converted to KOHA open source integrated library software (ILS) with the latest version. *All the books in the library are now catalogued, bar-coded and RFID tagged* for easy circulation and better security.

    KOHA, the library management software is used for managing the different functions of library. The library has WEB-OPAC facility where all users including students, faculty members and others can browse through for information regarding library resources from anywhere within the campus.
