Industrial Visit
At Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Institute of Management Science (BIMS), we strongly believe that practical exposure plays a crucial role in enhancing a student’s understanding of the corporate world. To complement classroom learning, BIMS integrates industry interaction as a vital component of its academic curriculum.
As part of this initiative, students participate in industrial visits every semester, exploring a wide range of sectors with a strong emphasis on manufacturing industries. These visits provide them with first-hand experience of real-world operations, helping them understand critical processes such as input–process–output systems, production techniques, quality control, and organizational workflows. Notable recent visits include industry leaders such as Coca-Cola Plant, Taratala (Kolkata) and Priya Biscuits, Dankuni, offering students valuable insights into large-scale production and supply chain systems.
Every Saturday, either students visit industry sites or industry experts visit our campus. These sessions include interactive discussions, hands-on problem-solving, and valuable mentorship, where professionals share their corporate experiences and guide students through live industrial projects. These projects are assigned by faculty members and often co-guided by corporate mentors, encouraging students to work on real-time business problems and innovative solutions.
To ensure lasting academic value, students are required to submit detailed project reports post each industrial visit. These reports are archived in the institute’s library and serve as an important reference resource for future batches.
Through these structured engagements with the industry, BIMS ensures that its students are not just academically sound but also corporate-ready professionals, equipped with the skills and exposure needed to excel in today’s competitive business environment.
